RESIDENCY AT NYC-SPC

Residency at NYC-SPC is a new program that awards an emerging street photographer $1,000 and a month of free unlimited access to our photo. lab providing film developing, scanning, and printing resources. The chosen photographer(s) will also be awarded the opportunity to present their work during their 3 week solo exhibition at NYC-SPC’s Contact Gallery located in Brooklyn.

The program is free to apply and open to all residents 18+ located currently or temporarily in the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut).

APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

The application consists of submitting:

  • 10-15work samples showcasing your best street photography series or photos.

  • 280 character artist bio.

  • 300 project statement on what project you would like to pursue and present during your solo exhibition at Contact Gallery.

Photographers are encouraged to submit work from a single series, but not required. Photographs do not have to be made in NYC.

A committee of five members of NYC-SPC reviews all submissions through a blind review and selects five finalists for a final vote amongst all members.

The selected winner will be notified by email within fifteen days after selection.

Applications to Residency at NYC-SPC are free. Applications are due by N/A.
